Somayeh and Javad married in 2019 in Iran with dreams of furthering their education abroad. Despite Javad's hard work to finance their aspirations, administrative processing has stalled his visa application since July 2021 due to his past military service with the IRGC. While Somayeh's visa was approved, she now grapples with loneliness and chronic illnesses without support. They feel helpless and separated, with no resolution in sight.
